Have You-

Have you read one of my books? I would love to hear your comments!

Please leave a review on Amazon.com and Good Reads. It matters!

Right now I am working on two manuscripts meant for grown-ups (under a pen name, so there’s no confusion!) And then I plan to add another Guinness the Therapy Dog book and add to The Fairies of Carlow series.

Where would you like Guinness to go?

Who would you like to read about from the Kingdom of Carlow?

Let me know and I’ll tell you if I used your idea! Sonja

It’s National Pet Day

Today is the day to celebrate your furry friends and I’m so excited to have Guinness the Therapy Dog and Lucy the Wonder Dog in my life.

I write about them in the Guinness the Therapy Dog series, where you can read about Guinness’s adventures.

The relationship he has with Lucy in the books is the same in real life. She is his moral compass and keeps him in line, which can be hard. Sometimes, Guinness is a little too enthusiastic–about everything. Lucy lets him know, in no uncertain terms, that he needs to calm down.

It’s fun to write about their relationship and Guinness’s zest for life. He’s good to have around!

I hope you have a fur-friend. Sonja

Book Sale!

From time to time I put my ebooks on sale. If you’re in the market for an ebook, check this website for announcements. I don’t have a specific schedule, but I do announce the sales here and on my Instagram (@author_sonja_danielson).

The Fairies of Carlow series is filled with middle grade books. That means chapters, no illustrations, and a more complex plot. These aren’t Young Adult books, so the subject matter should be appropriate for those readers of any age who are advanced enough to handle chapters.

The Voyage and the Guinness the Therapy Dog series are illustrated books. They are meant to be easy-to-read books, suitable for those learning how to read.

The Voyage is based on historical fact. It is set in the 1600s and looks at English history and how a preacher travels through Europe in search of religious freedom.

Guinness is a real therapy dog, and Lucy is his real-life older sister. They live with me. The books are based on Guinness’s adventures and his relationship with Lucy.

I hope you enjoy them. Sonja

Unboxing the books!

One of the most fun things is to get a box of books in the mail. From the covers to the pages, I love getting books.

These days, it takes a long time to get stuff shipped–since the shipping sources have been affected, as well as the supply lines. Order what you want and have the patience to wait. The people working to get it to you are battling a lot of negativity and unhappiness from the scarcity of several things as well.

Make sure you thank your delivery drivers–and wave when they drive by. It’s a good way to bridge the gap of social distancing!

I was out walking Guinness the Therapy Dog and waited for the Fed Ex truck to pass by before we crossed a side street. It wasn’t a big deal for me or Guinness, but it meant a lot to the driver and he called out a thank you. It was nice to show caring in such a simple way.

Tell me your ideas for bridging the social distancing gap! Sonja

Guinness is Expecting You!

Have you read my first two Guinness the Therapy Dog books?

They are illustrated by a talented artist from England. The covers give you a glimpse of the inside illustrations. Aren’t they wonderful?

The first book tells of Guinness’s work to become a therapy dog-and what he needed to do to become certified.

The second book tells of one of his favorite therapy activities: the Read-to-a-Dog program at one of our local libraries.

He loves to listen to the kids read their books, loves the pictures, and loves having them pet him as he lays at their feet while they read.

You’ll even find out about one of his special dog powers!!!

You can access the books by using the links on the left margin of this web page, or search for my name, ‘Sonja Danielson’, to see all my titles.

It’s Guinness’s Birthday!

Guinness the Therapy Dog turns four years old today! What a big boy!

Because of COVID-19, his therapy visits have ended–just for a short time. He misses all the kids at the shelter and at the library, so I read his book to him.

Did you see the weekend’s special pricing? Lots of people took advantage of the ‘free book weekend’ for the Fairies of Carlow series.

I hope you were able to download your copy.

Enjoy the books, and I hopy you send Guinness some birthday wishes! Sonja

A Cancellation and Sadness

(c)2020

Due to too many authors canceling their appearances at the Tucson Festival of Books, because of COVID-19, the festival has been canceled.

I know. I’m sad, too.

But, here’s the silver lining:

I will continue to offer my new books at a price cut! YAY!!!

Just go to Amazon.com and search for my name, or use the links in the left margin of this website to access the special pricing.

Please leave a review and let me know what you think of the books.

I’ll pass on your message to Guinness! Sonja

My Second Cover Reveal!!!

Yes, that’s Book 2 of the Guinness the Therapy Dog series. Entitled ‘Guinness Goes to the Library’, this book tells about Guinness’s adventures when he takes part in the Read-to-a-Dog program at the public library.

He likes to listen to the younger kids read books to him, especially when they show him the pictures. In this book, Guinness reveals one of his special powers: he can see colors! Most dogs only see black and white, but he can see all the colors of the rainbow.

I hope you enjoy reading about Guinness’s adventures. Sonja

Cover Reveal!

This is the cover for the first book in the Guinness the Therapy Dog series. This is a new series featuring Guinness, a 95-pound Bernese Mountain Dog, who wants to do something meaningful.

At the suggestion of his older sister, Lucy, a rescued mutt, he decides to become a therapy dog.

Read about what it took to become a certified therapy dog–training, assessments, and a whole lot of self-control!

Available exclusively on amazon.com, these books are available in paperback and ebook.

I hope you enjoy reading about Guinness the Therapy Dog! Sonja
