While I continued to wear a spiffy blue cast on my lower arm, I imagine it actually looks like this. I’m charmed by this photo.
Plus, I am writing about Lady Zepherine in the fourth installment of The Fairies of Carlow. Her namesake rose isn’t such a light pink but is equally beautiful. It’s a more cerise pink, maybe a medium dusty pink, so she makes a statement when she enters a room! There’s no blending in for someone wearing a cerise pink gown.
While I’m unable to write without sending pain throughout my hand and wrist, I am busy plotting in my head. My notebook is filled with ideas (my right hand, my handwriting hand, is fully capable!) and I’m starting to form another novel under a different author’s name.
The next Guinness the Therapy Dog book is also close to being sent to the illustrator.
Exciting stuff, huh?!?!?
I hope your week is filled with success, too. Sonja
Much of the focus of the Guinness the Therapy Dog series is on–Guinness the Therapy Dog. As it should be. But did you know that he has a companion/older sister?
She is Lucy the Wonder Dog. She is very shy and is happy to leave the spotlight to Guinness.
Lucy lives with us, too. She was, I think, significantly abused when she was a puppy and bears the emotional scars to this day. Lucy has lived with us for seven years, but cannot move past her suspicion of everyone and everything. She is on anti-anxiety medication (CBD tincture), which does a tolerable job but doesn’t completely eliminate her fears.
She is also a genetic mess. She suffers from permanent dislocations of both back kneecaps, her front legs are shorter than her back legs, and one of her front legs is shorter than the other causing a limp. She also has an impressive underbite. Even bulldogs are, like, “DUDE!”
But Lucy is a sweet girl and asks for attention-but, only from me. She doesn’t like men, hats, or loud noises.
Guinness loves her and they rely on each other for support. When I take Guinness for a walk (not her, she can’t go on walks longer than 50 yards because of pain), she waits by the door and talks to him when he returns. It’s a sweet relationship.
Did you know that Guinness the Therapy Dog has his own page on Instagram?
You can find him at @real_guinness_the_therapy_dog
Every day, I post a new photo of him doing his everyday dog things. Lucy the Wonder Dog also makes an occasional appearance.
Guinness the Therapy Dog loves to have his photo taken, and loves to send his photo to you. I hope you will follow him!
I also announce promotions on his books (and my other books) on his page, my author page (@author_sonja_danielson) and on this site. All the links for my books, paperback and ebook, can be found in the left margin of this website.
I hope you enjoy all of the books about the adventures of Guinness the Therapy Dog.

Guinness the Therapy Dog is going to have his day in court! But he’s not in trouble.
Did you know that therapy dogs go to court to help kids? That’s right! It can be a scary place, and dogs are there to make it less scary. Frequently, kids are asked to go into a courtroom to tell what they’ve seen or experienced.
That can be tough to do with so many people watching and listening. Among those watching could be the person who hurt them. That can be intimidating. Dogs help kids feel brave enough to tell the stories they need to tell.
Next time you go to court, think of the therapy dogs who help the younger people as they face this huge new challenge.
And if you’re a younger person facing this challenge, and you think a therapy dog can help you, ASK FOR ONE! They are there for you!
What do you want to accomplish? What do you want to have done by the weekend?
I guess you could call this a weekly bucket list… to do list… success list.
I have my goals: finish editing my current work in progress (WIP), write the next installment of the Guinness the Therapy Dog series, continual communication with the folks who like my books (I love to hear from them!), reach out internationally… the list is long and continually growing!
I’m also working on my lifelong learning. I’m refreshing my French and German. I’m getting my classes lined up to learn Japanese with my son (a huge leap on my part) and I’m taking some writing classes online since there’s always something new to learn and improve on.
I arranged for special pricing on these two ebooks.
The sale on the Guinness the Therapy Dog book ended yesterday, I hope you were able to grab a copy with the lower price!
The sale on The Voyage ends late on May 9. If you are interested in this nonfiction account of one man’s search for an end to persecution in the 1600s, then this is your book. It is written as an easy reader and has wonderful illustrations.
This book should be especially interesting to members of the Wing Family of America, as it chronicles the life of Reverend John Wing in England and Europe.
I hope you enjoy these special prices, and the ebooks! Sonja
It’s Wonderful Wondering Wednesday and I’m awaiting your questions. I do reserve the right not to answer it, but would love to hear what you’re thinking.
Since Guinness the Therapy Dog was adopted into our family close to his second birthday, we didn’t know him as a puppy. So, this transformation shows him throughout the past two years with us.
The only changes he’s gone through growth-wise while with us is that his neck and head have widened (which is normal for the breed). That meant a new collar.
He wasn’t a good leash walker and would lunge and pull with all of his 95 pounds. After a few weeks of training, he was able to walk nicely and made our neighborhood walks very fun. Before, it was a trial (and a workout!).
I probably wrote about this during a post about how Guinness became a therapy dog. I’m so proud of him!
(c) 2020 Guinness has his first therapy session at the library!
(c) 2020 Guinness trains to become a therapy dog! He’s so excited to get his heart-shaped tag!
(c) 2019
@real_guinness_the_therapy_dog is his Instagram handle. He would love to count you amongst his followers! Guinness the Therapy Dog posts every day and gives a little peek into his antics when he’s not ‘on the job’ and bringing happiness to others.
Guinness the Therapy Dog has a wonderful follower from Japan who paints pictures of him. She uses one of his posted pictures as a model and always adds a pretty flower. This week she painted a picture of Guinness balancing a treat on his nose!
I think it would be fun to showcase art featuring Guinness the Therapy Dog at the back of my future books. If you want to be included, paint or draw a picture of Guinness the Therapy Dog, send it to me at sonjadanielson@gmail.com within the message (not as an attachment, please) and include information that you would like included (first name, age, where you’re from-nothing too specific, please.) Also, write that you give permission for the artwork to be published in perpetuity so there are no questions about if it’s able to be in a book, or how often/when it appears.
I hope you enjoy reading about Guinness the Therapy Dog! Sonja
